Summary of qualifications
  • Systems administrator of Windows NT 3.51 LAN. Originally 25 workstations, expanded out to 125, and migrated to NT 4.0, with a Primary Domain Controller & Backup Domain Controller. Average of 200 authorized users on network, including Battle Group Commander, Air Wing Commander, Commanding Officer, and Executive Officer.
  • Ensured continuity across shipboard LAN, as well as connectivity over SIPRNET to other government sites worldwide.
  • Systems administrator of Contingency Theatre Air Planning System (CTAPS) LAN. Unix based system used for production, receipt, and testing of Air Tasking Order (ATO) worldwide. System uses relational database with 3 servers, and 6 workstations.
  • Systems administrator of Joint Maritime combat Information System (JMCIS). Unix system used for plotting positions of sea, air, & land based tracks on a digital display of the world, and transmittal, and receipt of messages. JMCIS uses three main servers, two secondary servers, and nine workstations. System also manages message profiles for our users.
  • Assisted with load-out of all computers on LAN with operating systems, MS office suite, and all mission specific software.
  • Assured continuity over SIPRNET over both Netscape, and MS Internet Explorer.
  • Assisted in production of network connectors, and LAN cables.
  • Assisted in running cable throughout the ship. Installing repeaters and hubs to support all computers linked into LAN.
  • Only system administrator for CTAPS during install, and entire six month deployment. System had zero down time, and availability to take over as area wide server while stationed in Persian Gulf.
  • Qualified in Preventive Maintenance on desktop computers, as well as larger UNIX machines.
  • A senior petty officer in my division, I assisted in training of new personnel.
  • Set up the classified web page for the USS John C. Stennis.
