Download BlankSaver-1.1.zip (developed with SlimServer 6.5.x, but should work with Slimserver 6.0 or newer). Unpack in your Plugins directory.

BlankSaver is the simplest possible screensaver -- all it does is set the brightness of your player display to 0 so it goes completely dark. This should extend the life of your VFD. You can also use the Brightness button or Web interface to set a player brightness to 0/dark, so why bother with BlankSaver? Set as a "Manual" screensaver in a SaverSwitcher set, BlankSaver makes it easy to turn your display off and then revert to the normal setting without having to press the Brightness key several times.
