My name is Jonathan Lasser. I am a computer guy and writer living in Seattle, Washington. I used to do technical writing; my book Think Unix remains popular, after more than four years.

I work at Isilon Systems as a Senior Technical Support engineer. In a former life, I was a Unix Systems Administration, Training, and Security consultant, and Lead Coordinator for the Bastille Linux Project.

In my copious spare time, I'm working on my fiction and critical writing. If you would like to keep up with my published works, please consider subscribing to my mailing list.

I'm a graduate of Goucher College, in Towson, MD, where I majored in English (Creative Writing) and Philosophy.

I helped found the DC Cypherpunks. I am also a former member of the North Baltimore division of the Free State Pinball Association. When I lived in Baltimore, I also attended meetings of the DC Linux Users Group, the UMBC Linux Users Group, and Old Bay SAGE.

I have been a member of the Uncensored BBS community for more than a decade now. I'm glad they're finally on the 'net, even if I don't have time to spend there.
