3D

Java 3D

In development is threed a simple 3D viewer... The idea is to morph this into a 3D puzzle or possibly a 3D automaton for life or ant. The X Manual Page is written for the X version but may be useful to understanding the Java program.

The scalable version includes some JavaScript. This code handles resizing, which may be browser dependent.

See project notes for todo list and history. Please let me know if I left out anything.

Three Dimensional Life

This is John Conway's Life in 3D, initially explored by Carter Bays.

A very useful tool for finding life forms (particularly 3D and 4D) is xlife4d. You will need X to run it (Windows users download Cygwin and also the programming tools and X found there).

Here is a very preliminary start in a collection of 3D life forms. I will try to add more life forms I found with xlife4d, as well as more basic life forms found years ago. Life3D collection

Let me know if you find new life forms or have trouble getting started. Someday, I would like to have a Java interface also...

Neat 4D viewers and puzzles (I did not write this stuff)

4va-1.2.1 A 4D viewer (X Window System required)
Nteract4 A 4D Pocket Cube (2x2x2x2 in JavaScript)
For Tesseract, a 4D Rubik's Cube (3x3x3x3) with auto-solve for Macintosh contact: Charlie Dickman.
