The InstallFest that we previously posted about here has been cancelled due to lack of interest. Marjorie Guillen, who is behind the plan, hopes for an October Fest. So to speak.

Coming up May 18: YHSLUG meeting on libre in general and Ubuntu in particular, aimed at the student body. Email me (Thomas) or the list if you can present on Ubuntu or the installation of something like Beryl, compiz, or xgl. More details forthcoming.

Our next meeting will be Friday, April 20th, at 7 pm. The topic will be audio streaming and Internet radio on free software systems. T.D. Crowley and Jason Straw will be presenting on Icecast. Anyone who wishes to present on multimedia with open source software is welcome (and encouraged) to do so.
