To: redhat-announce-list@redhat.com cc: e07@nikhef.nl (Eric Wassenaar) Subject: Update 4 Improved TCP/IP Networking Utilities Date: Wed, 24 Jun 1998 20:03:06 -0400 From: "John A. Martin" X-Mailing-List: archive/latest/36 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- I have put updated versions of Eric Wassenaar's TCP/IP Networking Utilities host - nameserver query utility and zone listing analyzer ping - new version with cisco/flood mode and record route traceroute - version with loose source route and no kernel mods vrfy - utility to verify email addresses and mailing lists Packaged as follows ewhost-980531-1.i386.rpm ewhost-980531-1.src.rpm ewping-980228-1.i386.rpm ewping-980228-1.src.rpm ewtraceroute-980228-1.i386.rpm ewtraceroute-980228-1.src.rpm ewvrfy-971114-1.i386.rpm ewvrfy-971114-1.src.rpm to from where they remain available. Many thanks to Eric Wassenaar for making his excellent utilities build cleanly atop Red Hat Linux 4.2. As with earlier versions, I prepended "ew" to the package names to avoid present and potential name clashes with other packages containing the well known utilities and for consistency. Also to avoid clashes and for consistency, these relocatable packages all place their executables and man pages under /usr/local by default. These packages were built by non-root atop RH4.2 with libc-5.3.12-18.2 and should, I believe, build for other platforms as well. I hope folks will build those and add them to contrib. In any event please let me know if there are problems building rpms for other platforms. These packages are signed with the same key as this message. The public key is available from the public servers and from finger://jam@gwyn.tux.org http://www.tux.org/~jam/jam-keys.html Enjoy. jam -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.3a Charset: noconv Comment: Processed by Mailcrypt 3.4, an Emacs/PGP interface iQCVAwUBNZGTfWZSfysERW1TAQHAXgQAnlc0hgWBxeWnTkj1FWTB4J4uQGfhzv/V dY6Uaos14xE+8G2F+MGCO+p0eIEDzVvJCf9LYRQ7o2nOR/7GqzJQrZXs8yWUv4bH FOVop8u58Sn69U/N5hSTtbTXpELi/MCqDCyRLgPYIlppMryz3H4QygpbGqthhfOR wkTLgIqA0QE= =aL4J -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe: mail -s unsubscribe redhat-announce-list-request@redhat.com < /dev/null
