Washington, DC Linux Users Group (DCLUG)/NOVALUG InstallFest

(Hey, What exactly is an InstallFest, anyhow????)

Beta-plus Fest...... 4 August 2001

It's short notice, but.....
Red Hat has a new beta they're interested in testing on us. If you have a box you're interested in experimenting with, come on over.

Note that this 'Fest will be smaller than previous ones, and mostly devoted to this one beta. We'll not be offering the usual variety of releases, but there will be some 7.1.

We also suspect we'll have less help than usual, given it *IS* August, and the wise folks have all fled for more moderate climes.

This thus may not a good choice for a first-time 'Fest participant to bring a machine, but please come and observe/help!

As always, you shall need your own monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc; it's hard to run your machine without same! Please bring your own outlet strip as well.

Details, Details

When

Doors open 10:30 AM through 5 PM, Saturday 4 August 2001
To ensure we finish up on time, no installs can start after 3:30 PM. (Please do not show up early; we'll be busy doing setup work.)

Where

Building A of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (part of the Naval Medical complex in Bethesda, just inside the Beltway between Wisconsin and Connecticut Avenues).

Enter off Jones Bridge Road (that connects Wisconsin and Connecticut) through the Grier Rd entrance -- the one marked "traffic light" on the map.... The University is to the right off of Grier. Drive into the parking area under the building to unload and park. We'll have some carts.

We're hoping to have a dinner afterwards; details later.
